Getting my Senior year Spring Banquet dress

So my school doesn't have prom or homecoming because I attend a Christian school. We do however have Banquets and this may we are having our spring banquet at the Catamaran Resort Hotel and spa. Like public schools, we do dress up in prom/homecoming dresses and the guys are obviously in classy suits/tuxs and we have music and a lovely dinner. afterwards, we go places and do whatever. that is our banquet in a nutshell. Now onto the dress.

I got my dress at Price Breakers in National City and it is a long red dress. i dont have the dress with me now because it has to be taken in a little bit and i will be picking it up May 1st so i will probably post it on here when i get it. the picture i have of it now is kinda weird because im not supposed to have taken a picture because they dont allow pictures and i didnt have the zipper zipped because they zip it up themselves so you dont have to buy it yourself when the zipper breaks. so in the picture i am literally holding it to me with my arm. It is deepish red and one shoulder.  it has alot of rouching and on one side it has this sort of braided detail. the dress does have a train and its about 6-12 inches. so its not thaaat long but its still nice. the theme of this banquet is 007.

at first i had seen this lovely silver sequined dress that i never would have gotten if the event wasnt themed, but it seemed to fit the bond girl thing pretty good. i decided to try it on just for kicks to see if i liked it and i forgot one thing. i am not mannequin sized. i am a latin girl who has wide hips and does not fit into some dresses that otherwise would look good on lets say, an asian girl who tends to look good in almost anything. the dress did have a slit which added to the glam but hey. it was hideous on me. but ill see if i kept a picture of the dress on the hanger.

There was a dress that i fell completely in love with. i saw it on the internet but i knew it was not meant to be because the dress was 238.00! aint nobody got enough money to throw away on that... but the dress was amazing!! It is red with a slit and some beading on the neckline which is a low v neck line but not so low that it shows everything. i like trains so the dress did have a train a bit longer than the dress that i bought and the back was gorgeous too. it has open back but the straps do criss cross. i think i found it on promgirl.com but im not sure. i just saved the picture on my phone. so ill try to post a picture of that one too. i was so sad that i couldnt use that for my senior year but im thankful that i still was able to get a dress.

so this was just an update on how the whole banquet thing is coming along, ill see if i can post a picture when i get the dress back from alterations. :)

Blog Challenge Day 4 - my views on religion

For those of you who don't know, I am a seventh day Adventist. What is a seventh day Adventist? And where did we come from? well, Before the Catholic Church came about, thousands of years ago, there was a group of followers who followed Jesus Christ. They were considered the early church and had known him personally. They followed Christ's teachings as he said to and were persecuted by the Roman Empire. With the conversion of Constantine, Constanine decided to unite the whole world in "Christianity" and this brought in the era of Roman Catholicism. Roman Catholicism started worship on Sunday to not offend the roman pagans and adopted their gods/idols and gave them Christian names such as Mary, Peter, and James. They worshiped on Sunday because that is the day that the sun was worshiped. From that time on, the "early church" was forced to become an underground church. They were persecuted to the fullest extent and many were martyred. The reason why it's called the dark ages is because so many of them died and the world was kept in the dark about the Bible because only priests were allowed to read them.
Many people hate religion because they think that all we did was fight wars and kill anyone that didnt agree with us. That is false religion. That is the religion of power. I believe in Jesus and never force Him down anyone's throat because accepting him is a personal decision. We worship on Saturday because when God gave the red the Ten Commandments, he specifically set aside the Seventh Day to be holy. After creating the earth, he set aside a day for us to rest and spend time with him and not worry about everything during the week. From Sundown Friday night to sundown Saturday night, we observe the sabbath. Our religion is different from others because we do not believe in salvation by works. So observing the sabbath does not give salvation. It is something that we do because we love God and in consequence, follow his commands. We are saved by accepting his sacrifice of dying on the cross and rising again and having a personal relationship with him. So that is where we get the Seventh Day part of our name. The Adventist part comes from our belief that Christ will come again one day to take us to heaven. From here comes our belief that when you die, you stay dead and do not go to heaven in spirit form. Any spirits that are seen are satanic apparitions and are condemned and not to be associated with us. The use of mediums and psychics are strictly forbidden because that is not from God.
Gah! There's so much to write. I'm sorry f it's a bit long. But that is a small piece of what i believe in and what my views on religion are.

3. Non vegetarians asking me how do I survive and get protein? Ignorants... You guys eat vegans and still ask that?

4. People who think they are awesome and just really are ratchet.

5. People who take animal abuse lightly and joke around about hurting them. Psychos..

Blog Challenge Day 1 -- Current Relationship status

For the past 14 months, i have been in a relationship with the biggest goofball on the planet. sometimes i wonder if im dating a five year old the way he is constantly running around and always doing something. whether it is trying to balance a hammer and phone off a ruler suspended from his desk during a quiz, or trying to scare me by hiding behind every corner when he knows perfectly well that i can still see him. some days this can be beyooooond irritating but i wouldnt have it any other way. He asked me out on the most cliche day ever but it doesnt really matter. it was the sweetest thing too. His mother, by the way, is amazing. i was already friends with her before all these shenanigans started and though she was surprised to find out that he liked me beyond a friend, she delved into making our lives as fun as possible immediately. She has to be the best semi-mother in law of all time. We both plan to attend college in canada of all places, and he hopes to become a DPT while I plan to follow my sisters footsteps and become a veterinarian. So heres to another happy 14 months :)

i know that it is no where near the beginning of the month but im going to try to do this. might skip a day or two.

Review about sucky thing #1

I know that i am not the only one that hates shaving. yes, this is gonna get awkward. i am in no mood to actually go get my legs waxed because first of all, aint nobody got time for that, and its expensive. i am not about to pay a stranger to pour hot wax all over me and then cruelly strip hair hairs out by the ribbons. this is not a particularly attractive proposal. i have looked into several alternatives other than shaving because lets face it, i am incredibly lazy. i was looking at reviews for products on youtube and other sites. One method that stood out to me was the no-no hair removal thing. it seemed good but reviews on youtube that girls had posted showed that if your hair is any sort of thick, they will just get a nice light show and move on. another downfall to the device is that it is super beyond expensive. if someone bought it for me i would mind trying it out, but as of now, im a poor student so that is out of the question. Another video on youtube got my attention. It was one posted by ilikewaylee and she was doing a product review on Veet depilatory cream. she said that it worked wonders for her and she used it everywhere. At this point in the video, i didnt take notice that maybe her having asian hair had anything to do with it.  Basically, a delapilatory cream is something that burns the hair down the root and makes it able to be wiped off. You're basically desintigrating parts of your body if you think about it. Alot of people complain about the smell but i thought to myself, If i can deal with the smell of my own hair burning while i straighten it, i can deal with this smell. So off i went to the store to buy my first bottle. It looked a little different than the one in the video but i could deal with it. To be honest i was kinda scared to use it at first becuase, um, it eats hair. Also, i have never used anything like this before. I convinced my friend to try it on herself first and she took the bottle and walked into the girls bathroom and proceeded to apply some on her stomach. No instructions read, no questions asked. why on her stomach? anyways.. after 5 minutes and some very faint smell of hair dying, we wiped off the cream to see the results. the fine peach fuzz on her stomach was gone and she spend the rest of the day rubbing her belly because of how smooth it was. Alright, i thought to myself, lets try this. Disclaimer: if you are of any Latin, African, or Middle Eastern descent, it probably wont work. This cream was meant for soft, asian/white hair. My guess is if you have super fine, thin peach fuzz that you want to get off your legs, this could be a perfect way to spend $5. if, however, your hair has more substance than a microfilament, youre better off just getting over your laziness and using a damn razor. out of five, this product gets ** two stars. because i have to admit, her tummy was pretty smooth.

Wanelo my love...

So lately I have discovered with the help of a good friend, a haven for poor girls who wish they were rich. It is called wanelo. Wanelo is an app that features all the amazing stuff that you could ever want to buy but you can't because you have no money. You can create wishlists and it is a very convenient tool for people who want to know what you want for your birthday to use. I myself bought my friend a birthday gift for her. Clicking on the picture of any item, you are given the option of being directed to the link of the proud t so you can have the chance to buy it for your own poor self. You can find anything under the sun in that app. Who after all doesn't want sheep onesies? Everything from clothes, to jewelry, to mustache mugs and prom and wedding dresses are on there. It is quite easy to get addicted! This simple description doesn't do it justice. So I invite you to check it out for yourself at wanelo.com. By the way, if you are feeling ever so generous, bye me a gift from my wishlist at melicita10?? :D would be much appreciated!
