Le Miserable (the movie) 2012

I saw the broadway version when I was younger and honestly I slept through the whole thing, woke up to hear a black and red song, slept again, woke up to see that everyone died. What is the matter with this play?? I thought. But this year they tried a whole new approach to the movie and all of
My friends were excited. I couldn't understand why, I knew the ending, they know the ending, errbody know the ending. It was only as I sat in the theater that I realized that since this was a broadway musical, I set myself up for 3 hours of singing. As the movie progresses I can't help but thinking how depressingly awesome this is. Here is Anne Hathaway singing one of the hardest songs to sing in broadway. Most of the time in the play versions, all these characters are played by old, skilled, singers who can take on the project and not butcher it. But lo and behold, Hugh jackman also did a marvelous job! I was used to seeing him with blades coming out of his knuckles but there he was, with a beard, tears pouring down his face and him belting out a beautiful tenor part. What is this?? Amanda Seyfried totally owning the part of cosette, Helena Bonham Carter (Charlie and the chocolate factory's mom) and sacha baron Cohen acting out a hilarious couple, Samatha Barks with a BEAUTIFUL performance as Éponine. Had everyone tearing up (except me of course) and hurting for her because she had to help the man she loved find the girl that HE saw once and fell in love with. And I still can't get over Isabelle Allen's acting.. As little cosette. Very pretty voice too.

My takeaway from this movie? It's dark, it's sad, it has you wanting to help all of those poor people and wanting to slap Russell Crowe even though he did an amazing job! I just don't like his character: annoying man who can't be thankful that his life was saved and still hunts down the man who saved him. I totally recommend this movie to watch. But do not expect a happy ending. Just fall In love with the damn characters. You might as well, they're all gonna die.

How i am Pride and Prejudice obsessed

"In vain have I struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you." - Mr. Darcy

I know im a bit late but i seriously think that the Pride and Prejudice movie was the best Romance movie to ever make it to the screen. it is not sappy, it is about a girl with actual dignity and can speak for herself. all that aside, it is also the only romance movie that i can make it through. so one day i was browsing through etsy.com which is a wonderful little site where it has everything that you dont need, but its everything that you could ever want! imagine my reaction when i found that there was a scarf with Mr. Darcy's proposal speech to Lizzie! GAH! i want it so bad. its cute too, perfect for summer nights depending where you are (San Diego) or fall and winter days :) This scarf is handmade by a lovely little shop named  Brookish from Long Island. Even though she will never see this i just want to say that she is an absolute genius :) THIS i can imagine wearing.

Ahh. another genius item from the shop 'Kate' from Etsy.com. this i can imagine always wearing. if it isnt evident already, i think whoever started putting these quotes on jewlery and clothing are ...just plain awesome. actually, while we are here, why not give a shoutout to Jane Austen? yes i know she's dead :( but honestly her work is just plain art. also i looove how Director Joe Wright put the movie together. it flows perfectly and the scenes that he is able to capture are beautiful. not to mention i also love Keira Knightley. why do people not like her that much? Anyways Ta-ta for now! I'm off to try and finish Divine Justice by David Baldacci

What is all this about over the knee socks??

over-the-knee-socks.jpg
These were once a thing of the past. these used to be in like in the 20s and were considered scadalous when you could catch a glimpse up the skirt and see that they werent normal leggings and actually didnt go all the way up. nowadays i see them everywhere, asian girls, big girls, twig girls, everybody is wearing shorts and over the knee socks this winter! i mean i know that we are in San Diego but its still winter. cant these wait? till at least the 2020s? pay respect to the slutty flappers of the 20th century.

Normally i would be kind of against these. why? i dont know. but i think that ive just seen one girl too many walking around in these. its like when i went with a group trip to Spain and all the girls in our group looked around and saw that all the Spanish women were wearing tights with shorts and ankle boots and then everyone decided that they were gonna wear that too. cant you find something original. theres nothing wrong with these styles per se but the fact that EVERYONE is wearing this all the time kind of makes you want to see something else rather than everyone wearing uniform clothing yet still thinking that they are beyond original. poor socks, they didnt see it coming.
